Preamble
Ok Please Read Carefully
Every social network system (forum, social network, member-based CMS) accummulates on inactive members as time goes on. - What I like to call deadwood. Well I was thinking on how I can prune the inactive members, to keep the network only with the active vibrant members - but that will be unfair to lose them without trying to get them back to be active again on the social network. So we made a system that TARGETS inactive members ONLY, by sending notificaion messages to members who haven't logged-in in a while. This system targets the inactive members without spamming the happily active members. The time that you can deem a member inactive is defined by YOU in the plugin, this is the time between the last login and the 1st notification, and that's when the 1st notification is sent out. If a member doesn't login, then they are sent a 2nd notfication in a set time after the 1st notification. The time between the notifications sent out is also set by YOU in the plugin. After the 4th notification then members can be eligible for being pruned/deleted IF they were marked for deletion on the index page. However, if a member logs in after receiving the notifications(which is what we want them to do) then they will not be sent the next notification next time they are processed - they go back to the start, which means if they become inactive again they will be sent the 1st notificaion email again. This is good because you still stay in touch with ALL your members if they become inactive. Membership types can be excluded from notifications, for example one wants to exclude paid subscription members since they might be special. After all the notifications are sent out, a member will be eligible for deletion OR recycling (recycling is putting the inactive member back to the beginning of the notification cycle).
Attributes
Selects memberships whose inactive members to send emails to - marks them for email notifications and/or for deletion when the email cycle is over. This means if you have subscription memberships or special memberships that you don't want being processed (or marked for deletion) you can actually exclude them from the notification process.
Sends notification emails to members by measuring the time between
a) now and the last day they logged in, and
b) between the last time they received the last notification email and now
Notifications will go back to 0 when member does a login, which means their notifications cycle will start again from the beginning timer is restarted towards the 1st notification from their login.
Automatically detects which email notification to send to which member when the emails are sent. For example, it will know that member A last received notification email 1, so the next one to be sent to them will be notification email 2 - at the same time it sends a different notfication email to different member depending on the last email they received.
Each member's case is treated individually when sending out notification emails
Has a delete member function, which only comes available after all notification emails have been sent out to a member, but the member still doesn't come back (login ).
Has a re-cycle member function, which just resets the member's email notification count back to 0, which means the member will be repeating the notification email cycle again from the first notification
Deletion notification only sent a member is being notified that they have been deleted.
What's in it for you?
Based on this you can :
-send out your html or plain txt notifications as newsletters, telling your members that you miss them, or whatever sweet talk you use to bring them back
-exclude membership types from the notification process and/or deleting process
-catches out those members who register with fake emails, and invalid emails, and also those who failed to verify their signups. These members can clog the system, for example =>you think you got 74,000 members, when in reality 30,000 of them have never logged in because of failed verification/fake registration. This plugin gives them a chance to login/stay, if they are genuine.
-mark/unmark memberships for deleting OR recycling, which only happens if they have been sent the 4th notificaion.
-target the inactive members without spamming the active, or the inactive for that matter
-Notifications can be used as newsletters targeted to the inactive people. Notifications sent in sequence to each individual, 1st to 4th(final)
-Target each individual member separately/independently since they will have different login times. One member can receive the 1st notification whilst another receives the 2nd one or last one, depending when each one of them last logged in, and last received a notification.
-Lists individual members eligible for deletion OR recycling, before you delete OR recycle them
-If you are not keen on deleting inactive members, you just recycle them (keep them), and then send them notifications all over again, starting with the 1st one.
-You can delete members using this plugin if you decide to prune your social network, and don't worry - it uses phpfox's delete function so a member is deleted the right way,. - Can be used to delete members who are inactive, fake, failed-verifications.
-Notify members when they have been deleted from the social network.
